We have a library – one in the boys’ section and another in the girls’ – with a large collection of books that foster a love of literature. Students visit the library with their English or French teacher and enjoy targeted reading and listening activities. We have fiction books (including mystery, science fiction & fantasy, sports fiction, supernatural, classics collections, nonfiction books, and biographies). The library offers a relaxed atmosphere; it has a smart board and references books and equipment that supports teachers and students whenever needed. The space is also used for exhibitions of students’ work or curriculum-linked displays, debates, presentations, and even competitions.

At ECIS, we believe that hands-on investigation through laboratory experimentation is the best way to introduce students to scientific inquiry, the process of asking questions, and conducting experiments as a way to understand the natural world, which is the foundation of science education. Our science labs provide students with the opportunity to interact directly with natural phenomena or with raw data – there are 4 labs in the girl’s building and two in the boys’ building.

We place a huge emphasis on students’ health. Playing outside helps students let off steam and is a crucial part of childhood that helps children develop physical strength, eye-hand coordination, and balance. We have 3 playgrounds one is divided into two portions and qualified physical education teachers instruct our students in aerobics, karate, and sports. We aim to help our students develop resiliency as theylearn to cooperate, overcome challenges, and negotiate with others. Our playgrounds are used for physical education classes and for assembling in the mornings and for the break.

We offer a large play area for students in kindergarten; it contains recreational equipment such as a swing set, slide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, and playhouses – these help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, besides providing recreation and enjoyment. Having an organized play area helps in imbuing children with a sense of fair play and good manners.
